Nicaragua’s Sheynnis Palacios emerged victorious as the Miss Universe 2023 winner, triumphing over India’s Shweta Sharda in a spectacular event held at the Jose Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador on November 19.
The crowning moment unfolded as Miss Universe 2022, R’Bonney Gabriel from the USA, bestowed the coveted title upon Sheynnis Palacios, marking her as the first Nicaraguan woman to decide the Miss Universe crown this time.
This edition of the Miss Universe pageant, the 72nd in its heritage, unfolded in El Salvador, drawing actors from further than 90 nations, all fighting for the prestigious crown.
Shweta Sharda, aged 23, secured her place in the Miss Universe 2023 semifinals after claiming the Miss Diva Universe 2023 title in August of the same time, proudly representing India on the transnational stage.
Reflecting on her achievement after winning Miss Diva India, Shweta expressed,” A tremendous sense of satisfaction and excitement comes from winning the Miss Diva India pageant. I have been featuring about this moment for so long, and seeing it come true is simply beyond words. I’m incredibly thankful and eager for the trip that lies ahead, and I am looking forward to making my nation and my family proud by bringing the Miss Universe Crown back to India.
Hailing from Chandigarh, Shweta embarked on her trip at the age of 16, shifting to Mumbai to pursue her dreams. Her bents have graced colorful cotillion shows, including’ DID,” Dance Deewane,’ and’ Jhalak Dikhlaja.’
India boasts a rich history in the Miss Universe competition, with three remarkable women securing the coveted crown Sushmita Sen in 1994, Lara Dutta in 2000, and Harnaz Sandhu in the former time, 2021.
